 Expressions of Interest are now open for those wishing to trade at this year’s St Patrick's Day Spring Carnival 2026.
 
The St Patrick’s Day Spring Carnival 2026 will take place on Tuesday17th March with family-friendly activities taking place in the city centre from 12pm - 6pm. A range of traditional Irish music, dancing and animation will be programmed throughout the day with the St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade taking place from 3pm – 4pm. This is a family friendly event and we anticipate an audience of approx. 35,000 people in attendance.
 
Event Date & Times: Tuesday 17th March 2026 from 12noon – 6pm.
Trading Venue: Trading space will be located in Guildhall Square and can accommodate approx. 10 traders depending on size of trading space required.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • This opportunity is open to Businesses located in the Derry and Strabane Council Area only.

  • Preference will be given to businesses who align to the LegenDerry Food Brand Ethos showing the use of local artisan producers, commitment to supporting local provenance and traders that fit with the St Patrick’s Day theme – i.e. themed menu/items.

  • This event can accommodate approx. 10 traders. Selection will be broken down as follows:

    • 6 with a STREET FOOD offering. Given the event themed menu’s / items are encouraged.

    • 2 with a HOT DRINKS/ BEVERAGES offering.

    • 2 with FAST SELLING items.

  • You must hold a minimum Food Hygiene Rating of 4 or 5 under the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) - Ratings must be current and issued by a local authority.

  • Operate a documented HACCP-based food safety management system.

  • If successful, you must provide valid Health & Safety documentation, including:

  • Public Liability Insurance

  • Employer’s Liability Insurance (where applicable)

  • PAT certification (Portable Appliance Testing) for all electrical equipment

  • Fixed Electrical Installation Certificate (where applicable)

  • Food Hygiene Rating (minimum 4 or 5)

  • Gas Safety Certificate for all LPG appliances (issued by a Gas Safe registered engineer)

  • Suitable fire-fighting equipment available on the stall (e.g. fire blanket and appropriate fire extinguisher)

  • You must be completely self-sufficient and trade from your own mobile unit or popup stall. There will be no letting of council owned stalls. Council WILL provide an electric supply at this event. Traders will not be permitted to use generators in the event site.

  • You are, without exception, required to open every day of the operating period and for the whole of the opening times. See event dates & times above. This is a condition of the Licence.
