Support for Work: Addressing barriers to employment

What is it?

The Learning Support Fund has been designed to upskill individuals and help them move closer to or into employment. The programme provides assistance to people who are unemployed or economically inactive by supporting them through short, accredited training.

Who is eligible for the fund? You must be:

  • Unemployed or economically inactive.
  • Work ready and willing and able to take up immediate employment.
  • Fully committed to undertaking all required training and qualifications.
  • Resident within the DCSDC area.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Not participating on any other initiative that would exclude you from the Labour Market Partnership Programme.

 

Support Available:

  • One to one mentoring.
  • Assistance with accessing the Learning Support Fund.
  • Career support.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to have a job offer? No, but you must be actively seeking work and there must be jobs available in the area where you require training / a qualification.

What if I have a job offer? We will fast track your training as a priority if you have been offered a job and need training / a qualification.

What do you need from me? We ask for proof of employment when you move into work.
