10 in Ten Business Partnership
The Mayor has launched the "10 in Ten" campaign to recruit ten local small businesses willing to pledge £100 per month for ten months in support of her official charity, Hive Cancer Support. Participating businesses receive exclusive partnership benefits, including Mayoral visits, press recognition, and staff access to cancer awareness programmes delivered by Hive.

Dine in the Dark
Taking place on Thursday 8th October 2026 in the historic Guildhall to mark World Sight Day, this unique event invites local businesses and guests to enjoy a three-course meal while blindfolded.
In aid of Hive Cancer Support and RNIB, the immersive experience aims to build empathy, challenge perceptions around sight loss, and promote inclusive workplace cultures. Tickets are priced at £50 per person or £500 per table of ten. You can book a place here – Derry City & Strabane - Your Council
School Storytelling Initiative
Mayor Uí Niallais is visiting primary schools across the city and district to read to P1 and P2 pupils, helping to inspire a lifelong love of reading and support language development.
Launched at St Oliver Plunket’s Primary School with stories by Julia Donaldson, the initiative provides young children with a fun, interactive way to engage with books and connect directly with the Mayor. Care Home Visits Initiative
The Mayor is connecting with older residents through a series of visits to residential and care homes across the district. Accompanied by the Hive Cancer Support Choir, Mayor Uí Niallais is spending quality time with residents sharing music, conversation, and community spirit while celebrating the dedication of local care staff.
