The Derry Central Riverfront project will transform how people experience the river and city centre. By prioritising pedestrians and cyclists over traffic, the riverfront will become a more welcoming, people-focused space with new civic areas, green spaces and improved streets. The project will encourage active travel, increase visitor numbers and dwell time, and unlock new development opportunities along the river. Importantly, it will also connect the university campus and innovation centres with the historic Walled City, helping create a more cohesive and vibrant urban core.
