Performance improvement plan 2022/23 represents its priority outcomes as a Council for the next year. It reflects the Council led priorities set out in the Inclusive Strategic Growth Plan and identifies actions that will be undertaken above and beyond the everyday working of Council services

Hybrid Working Policy  

The purpose of this policy is to set out the principles and procedures by which managers and employees can operate a shared understanding of hybrid working. This policy aims to ensure that those working under a hybrid working arrangement are treated equally to workers based in the workplace and that hybrid working is carried out safely and in accordance with the relevant Council polices and current legislation. It sets out the conditions on which hybrid working is possible and the terms that apply to all hybrid workers.

Council Meeting Arrangements  

The aim of this policy decision is to review of current meeting arrangements in light of the removal of COVID restrictions and to offer elected members a choice of options, namely: 

  • Option 1 – continue with virtual Council meetings; 

  • Option 2 – hold Council meetings in a hybrid/ socially distanced manner with Members present in the Chamber and also on line; 

  • Option 3 – return to physical meetings in the Council chamber, without social distancing. 

 

Option 2 was selected as it gave officers and elected members a choice as to which option best suited their needs

Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Policy 

Council recognises that Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse may impact an employee or employees in the workplace. This policy focuses on supporting employees who have been affected by, or are at risk of, domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse. 

Council is committed to meeting this legal responsibility in a manner that:  

 

• is sensitive to, and supportive of, the needs of employees who are in Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse situations  

• provides employees who are in Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse situations access to information regarding resources and supports to ensure their physical safety, emotional health, and basic material and financial needs  

• is protective of the health and safety of all employees that may be placed at risk as a result of domestic situations impacting the workplace while respecting the privacy rights of the employee in a Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse situation

This Risk Management Strategy forms part of Derry City & Strabane District Council’s internal control and corporate governance framework.  It has been developed to provide clarity and direction on current and future risk management activity across the Council to ensure a consistent approach is taken to risks, which may have an adverse impact on the Council’s ability to achieve its strategic aims and objectives.

Peace Plus Theme 1.1 Funding Bid 

Council’s overall aim for the Local Co-Designed Action Plan is to design and submit a plan in a co-design process with widespread engagement from local communities and identities across the geography of our council area which secures the full allocation of funding available and which has a positive impact on peace and reconciliation.
