A guidance document that assists the Mayor and Deputy Mayor understand their roles and responsibilities when undertaking civic duties.  A Civic Protocol which provides guidance to groups on the protocol to be applied when the Mayor has been invited to attend an event. 

The policy sets out the circumstances in which Mayoral / civic hospitality and/or civic or corporate gifts are provided and sets down guidance on the nature of such hospitality/gifts. 

This policy and procedures safeguard the personal safety of all children and adults at risk using Council’s facilities and services through actively promoting awareness, good practice and robust procedures.
