Report a Lost, Stray or Stolen Dog

Reporting a lost/stray dog

🐶 To report a lost or stray dog, contact  our dog wardens on ☎️ 028 71253253 | 📧  [email protected]

We can arrange to collect stray dogs or check to see if lost dogs have been picked up by our wardens and taken to Pet FBI Rescue (formerly Council Dog Shelter) at Unit 7a, Pennyburn Industrial Estate, Derry, BT48 0LU. . You may also be asked for:

•    Your name, address, and telephone number
•    A description of the dog including its type, colour, size and approximate age.
•    The time, date and location where you found the dog or details of when and where you last seen your dog.

Normal Opening Times:

Mon - Sat 10am – 12.00noon & 7.00pm - 8.30pm

The law requires that all stray dogs are kept for a minimum of 5 days to allow the owners the opportunity of reclaiming them.   Kennelling charges for a stray dog is £16.00 for the first day and £8.50 per day thereafter.

If you are collecting a lost or stray dog, please contact Pet FBI in advance

☎️ 07512280760 ( phone line open 10am - 8pm) |📧  [email protected] or through Facebook.

It is essential that the lost or stray dog is collected by its rightful owner.  Prior to release of your dog, you will be asked to provide some form of identification confirming your name and current address e.g. driving licence, passport, utility bill etc; as well as providing some proof of dog ownership e.g. ideally dog licence, microchip number but could include veterinary bill, dog breed papers, family pictures of the dog etc.; and the required release fee.

Please contact  Pet FBI if you are interested in rehoming an unclaimed stray dog.  It should be noted that Pet FBI may not be present during the listed opening times if there are no dogs in the kennels, so it is advisable to ring first to arrange a visit.
