The Application Process
Irrespective of the type of application (e.g. Full Plans, Building Notice or Regularisation), the assessment process is as follows:
Step 1: Submit Application
The applicant or Agent submits the applicable application and any necessary supporting documents with the correct fee (e.g. architectural drawings, structural reports, SAP calculations).

Step 2: Building Control Review
The Building Control Surveyor will review your application form, plans/supporting documents and fee submitted for compliance with the regulations. A Rejection Notice may be issued which will list the additional information required to allow further assessment. Once compliance is demonstrated, Building Control Approval will be issued.
Step 3: Statutory Inspections
As the work starts / progresses, the builder / applicant / relevant party is required to notify the Building Control office [link to notification page].
Step 4: Completion
Once the work is deemed complete, a Completion Certificate can be requested. Following submission of all relevant information and final inspection, a certificate will be issued if compliance has been demonstrated.
