Inclusive Contact Centre Academy

INCLUSIVE CONTACT CENTRE ACADEMY

Start Date: January 2026

The Inclusive Contact Centre Academy works with both contact centres and disability representatives within DCSDC with the aim to support people with a disability, into employment. 
Participants on this programme will receive wrap around support in:
  • Personal support
    • Identify levels of ability, achieved training and qualifications to date, including participants Literacy, Numeracy, and IT levels
    • Assess individual needs and barriers
    • Direction to existing mainstream support services
    • Building on communication skills, confidence, team work etc.
  • Obtaining the following training and qualifications:
    • Qualification OCN Level 1 Award in Customer Service (27GLH)
    • Training in Employability Skills
    • and support accordingly
  • Awareness sessions
    • Site visits to a place of work within a local Contact Centre
    • Understand workplace support available e.g. Workable NI, Access to Work, CMP, schemes managed by local disability employment organisations etc.
  • Employment support
    • Employability skills, job maintenance, resilience, stress management etc.
    • Entering a suitable placement or work trial to gain practical experience on the job
    • Locating and applying for job opportunities, understanding job descriptions, completing applications, interview techniques
    • Etc.

You are eligible for this programme if you:
  • Are out of work and willing to start employment.
  • Are considered to have a disability - Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 a person is considered to have a disability if he or she has “a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities”
  • Are of a working age and a resident of DCSDC
  • Have no, or low qualifications
  • Have the right to work in the UK (evidence must be provided to DSLMP)
  • Show commitment to fully participating in the programme, complete all necessary paperwork (registration, evaluation, follow up forms), and will accept post programme support and mentoring
  • Have the time available to attend all necessary training without exception
  • Are not participating in any other initiative that would exclude them from a DSLMP Programme (time, commitment, etc.)
