SECURITY INDUSTRY AUTHORITY (SIA) Employment Academy

Start Date: January 2026

Participants on the SIA employment academy will receive the required training, qualification and support in obtaining their Door Supervisor SIA Licence.
Participants on this academy will receive wrap around support in:
  • Obtaining the following training and qualifications:
    • First Aid Certification
    • Action Counter Terrorism (ACT) Awareness eLearning
    • Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
    • SIA License
  • Personal development
    • confidence building, communication, teamwork, resilience, conflict resolution, problem solving etc.
    • Managing expectations, learning plan/progression route
  • Employment support
    • Personal presentation, resilience, job maintenance
    • CV development, application form completion
    • interview techniques, aptitude tests
    • meet with possible employers / receive interviews on completion

You are eligible for this programme if you:
  • Are out of work and ready to take up employment
  • Are of a working age and a resident of DCSDC
  • Have no, or low qualifications
  • Have the right to work in the UK (evidence must be provided to DSLMP)
  • Show commitment to fully participating in the programme, complete all necessary paperwork (registration, evaluation, follow up forms)
  • Have the time available to attend all necessary training without exception
  • Are not participating in any other initiative that would exclude them from a DSLMP Programme (time, commitment, etc.)
