Through one-to-one, support, training, group workshops and information sessions, the SIE programme will develop your entrepreneurial and personal skills, with the idea of guiding you on setting up your own business.
This programme is for people who are unable to avail of mainstream support such as Go Succeed, due to structural or personal barriers that prevent things such as personal growth or achieving goals.
Through the SIE programme, you will:
- Develop your personal skills and build confidence
- Develop entrepreneurial skills and understanding
- Understand money and debt management
- Overcome barriers
- Develop an action plan to explore and test business ideas, with the aim of creating a business plan that leads to establishing your own business
You are eligible for this programme if you:
- are Economically Inactive (unable to work due to an illness or disability, unable to work due to caring for family member(s), or retirement)
- are of a working age and a resident of DCSDC
- have no, or low qualifications
- have the right to work in the UK
- are not participating in any other initiative that would exclude them from a DSLMP Programme (time, commitment, etc.)
- are committed to fully participating in this programme with a willingness to start your own business/become self-employed
